Great Britain: Green Light for the EPR

In March 2013, EDF Energy obtained regulatory approval for the Hinkley Point nuclear project in the United Kingdom. Following a favorable assessment from safety authorities through the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process, the company successfully obtained building permits for the site.

This authorization came after the regulatory body endorsed the selection of the EPR reactor type for this installation, paving the way for new nuclear reactor construction in Great Britain.
